Shot in the Dark 2020 Postponed

Dear Friends of Beyond Vision,

Beyond Vision’s Fifth Annual Shot in the Dark Golf Classic Fundraiser was originally scheduled for September 11, 2020.  This event was created to help create awareness about the challenges people who are blind face every day.

Because of the COVID 19 crisis, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone the event, putting the health and safety of our staff and guests first.

Although the event is postponed until next year, our mission to provide meaningful and sustainable employment for people who are blind carries on.  During the nationwide shut down, Beyond Vision was designated an essential service organization.  We are proud to have continued to provide our valued customers with the quality services they have come to expect. We took every step possible to ensure the safety of all our employees. We are proud to say we have retained 100% of our workforce and we have not had one case of COVID 19 surface at Beyond Vision.

Along with creating awareness, Shot in the Dark is a pivotal source of funding for Beyond Vision.  Funding from Shot in the Dark enables us to provide employment opportunities, adaptive technologies and critical job skills training programs for people who are blind in our community.  Disadvantaged populations face amplified challenges during this pandemic.

Even though we cannot come together to share the fun and “eye-opening” experience of the Shot in the Dark Golf Fundraiser, we also appreciate the major reason you are involved is to support our important mission.  There has never been a time when your support has been needed as much as right now.  Never.

We are asking you to donate to Beyond Vision to help us sustain our mission during these challenging times.   To participate in Shot in the Dark costs $125 per golfer, plus any silent auction items or 50/50 raffle tickets you usually purchase.   Please consider donating $125 to Beyond Vision now.

Remember, when you give a person who is blind the dignity of work, you are positively impacting their lives, their families, and, ultimately, our entire community.

Thank you for your consideration,
Nick Czaplewski

P.S.  We are hard at work making plans for future events, including Shot in the Dark 2021.  We hope to see you soon.
