Associate Product Manager

Beyond Vision has been creating employment opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired for over 100 years. As our business grows and our offerings diversify and improve, we are searching for an enthusiastic Product Manager to collaborate with the Government Products Business Unit Leader to help lead the new product identification and development, and lifecycle management of Beyond Vision’s Government Products portfolio. This role will involve project management, understanding customer needs, prioritizing features, and overseeing product development in alignment with market demands and company goals. Your efforts will drive the growth and success of Beyond Vision’s Government Products in participating in the AbilityOne program. The key metric of success in this position is growth of our mission, meaning we can provide more jobs for people who are blind or visually impaired.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify, validate and prepare a business case rationalizing the development of new product offerings under the AbilityOne program.
  • Prioritize and manage the full new product development life cycle.
  • Facilitate projects with the product development framework of National Industries for the Blind (NIB).
  • Collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to set and enforce government project timelines and deliverables.
  • Track and report project progress to all stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Create and manage a new product development pipeline prioritized based on mission impact.
  • Research, select, and implement tools to identify new product opportunities, or new sales opportunities for existing products.
  • Ensure compliance with AbilityOne commission pricing rules and policies.
  • Occasional travel required.

 

We Require:

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Product Development and Management, or Project Management in a manufacturing and product development environment.
  • Formal training in the principles of effective product development or project management.  Certification preferred: NPDM, CAPM, PMP, etc.
  • Proficiency in using Project Management tools like Microsoft Projects, Gantt charts, and work breakdown structure.
