Renee Jones smiles happily at the camera. She is wearing a pale yellow top and has her hair in braids.Renee has been blind her entire life due to complications at birth. She has been working at Beyond Vision and providing for herself for about a year. Using an adaptive screen reading software called JAWS (Job Access With Speech), Renee is able to use computers andread books without the use of her sight. This and other forms of adaptive technology enable Renee and so many other Beyond Vision employees to have access to sustainable employment. This Christmas, give the gift of employment. Your $100 gift helps us reach our goal of $5,000 to purchase 5 additional JAWS licenses this year. This will give 5 employees who are blind, like Renee, upward mobility and access to life changing employment at Beyond Vision.“For the first time in my life, I am able to buy Christmas presents for my two nieces and my nephew.” – Renee Jones

Nationally, 70% of Americans who are blind and of working age are not currently employed. Beyond Vision is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit social enterprise with the mission of providing employment opportunities to people who are legally blind.  Beyond Vision employs people who are blind in its machine shop, assembly and packaging and customer care center business units.

There are several ways to make a donation to Beyond Vision:

  • Donate by Mail – Beyond Vision, 5316 W. State Street, Milwaukee, WI 53208
  • Make a multiple year pledge.
  • Make a recurring monthly donation.  (Recurring donations are withdrawn through your credit or debit card, or checking or savings account on a monthly basis.  You determine the amount of your total donation and we withdraw the number of monthly donations to fulfill that obligation  – lasting up to three years to fulfill).
  • Talk to us about Planned Giving (a bequest).  A bequest is a written statement in a donor’s will directing that a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of the estate, will be transferred to Beyond Vision upon the donor’s death.   In fund raising bequests are the backbone of what is called, “planned giving.”
