Paving at Entrance

Milwaukee Team-

This Monday, October 24th, there will be some excavation and construction to the site area west of our building.  This will affect all of our arrivals and departures.  Please pay close attention to the information below.  We anticipate the work with last about two weeks.

Users of Route 18 to and from the VisABILITY Center

We have been in communication with MCTS.  Buses should proceed eastbound on the south side of the site toward the loading docks.  They will have plenty of room to turn the bus around and head west toward 108th St.  They can drop off and pick up passengers after they turn around.   The temporary stop is near the crosswalk near the flagpole.  We have asked MCTS to put a temporary bus stop sign on the Stop sign near the crosswalk.  Employees being dropped off can then walk on the sidewalk, past the flagpole, past the main entrance, and enter through the employee entrance as usual.  When departing the VisABILITY Center, you should be able to catch the bus at the same place you were dropped off.

Paratransit Riders

For employees using paratransit vans, we ask they instruct their drivers to follow the same procedure as MCTS buses.  Vans should proceed eastbound on the south side of the site toward the loading docks.  They will have plenty of room to turn the van around and head west toward 108th St.  They can drop off and pick up passengers after they turn around.   The temporary stop is near the crosswalk near the flagpole.   Employees being dropped off can then walk on the sidewalk, past the flagpole, past the main entrance, and enter through the employee entrance as usual.  When departing the VisABILITY Center, you should be able to catch the bus at the same place you were dropped off.  Communication with the two van companies is unreliable.  We need transit users to instruct their drivers to follow this process.

Rideshare

If you use some type of rideshare or carpool ,please ask your drivers to drop you off and pick you up near the crosswalk by the flagpole.

Parking

If you drive to work, there will be work done on the main parking lot.  The south entrance to the main lot will be blocked off.  You can enter through the north entrance.  It will be obvious to you where you can and cannot park.  There will be safe crossings from the lot to the front of the building.

On Monday, Jennifer Wenzel and Israel Cazares will be at the VisABILITY Center before the 6 a.m. shift to help provide guidance to employees that may need assistance finding the employee entrance.

We are so sorry for the late notice and inconvenience.  Your adaptability is appreciated..
