Beyond Vision

VisABILITY Center Construction

Outside of the VisAbility Center

The VisABILITY Center will feature a Universal Design that is accessible to all people. We have contracted with Bray Architects and Moore Construction. We have also enlisted the help of internationally-recognized Architect Chris Downey, who is blind.

Mr. Downey lost his sight because of tumors on his optic nerve. He loved architecture and learned and/or created adaptations to continue his craft and provide unique insight into Universal Design.

“Chris Downey is an architect who lost his sight and gained a
new way of seeing the world.” – TED

Construction is underway!

We are thrilled to announce construction has begun on our new home and we should be moved in by next year!

To celebrate this achievement we invited employees, board members, family, donors, and state officials/representatives to our new building for a Kick-Off celebration.  At the event we had employees speak about what Beyond Vision means to them, state representatives speak about what Beyond Vision’s Mission means to the community and our architect, Chris Downey speak about the importance of universal design which our new building with feature.

Check out this video to see a glimpse of our event and soon to be new home!
